Why is Norngarden2 for sale and not a free download?

After I had finished Norngarden1 I swore never to work on such a big projects anymore. You have to know that it takes lots and lot s of hours and days to produce a new Metaroom with all new graphics and rather complex scripting.
I changed my mind however when Ash from CL offered me to sell Norngarden 2 via the Creatures Mall. As everybody else I have to make a living and spending so much work in a project without having the possibility to get at least some money out of it is something I cannot afford!

Why is Norngarden 2 Password protected

In theory it is simple: Nice people buy Norngarden 2 to support my work and give me the possibility to work on Creatures Projects in the future. However not everybody is nice. To make stealing (which is giving away Norngarden2 to other people) impossible I added a password system that provides each user with his/her own password.

Can I use Norngarden 2 with my old Norngarden 1?

Sure you can. You can inject Norngarden2 in any world with Norngarden1 in it. You must not deinstall or install Norngarden 1 while Norngarden2 is in the game unless you have downloaded the new version 2.0 of Norngarden1!!!!!!!!!!

!!!Important!!!! If you have Ng1 or Ngx, remeber where you did install these for the first time: In C3 or DS. You should install Ng2 into the same game after downloading. Otherwise you will encounter an ugly error-scenario! (see below) This is only relevant for your first installation of Ng2.

Do I have to have Norngarden1 in a world to use Norngarden2?

No you can install it just on its own!

Can I use Norngarden 2 in C3 stand-alone?

Norngarden 2 is made for Dockingstation. It is not tested heavily on Creatures 3 stand-alone. But if you have Norngarden1 in your C3 world you should be able to use it as well. No guarantee here! Make shure to have Creatures3_Update_#2 installed before you try to install the Agent (you can get it at Treesprite's Creatures Grove)

The version 1.0 of Ng2 did not properly install into C3 solo worlds. This problem should be fixed in version 1.1. You can download a patch for your 1.0 version here (betaversion only -please report problems)

Do I need a special computer to run Norngarden 2?

No If Dockingstation runs fine on your PC and you have at least something like 30 MB free on your harddrive you can use it!

How do I get the Norngarden in the game?

This is the way how you agent in the game: Most agents come in a compressed form. You have to unpack these zipped agents. The program you use to do that is called Winzip and I think available for free download on the net. Most PCs have this program installed however.

When you unpack your agent you may choose where to unpack your agent. Either choose your "My Agents" Folder or unpack it on the desktop a manually drag it into that folder. Once your agent is in the My Agents Folder you can start the game

The agent should now show up in a list of injectable agents inside you agent-making machine in the workshop. You can select it a press the inject button to produce the agent in your game.

Most important: If you have C3 without Dockingstation docked you need an update to inject Agents that does not come with the game.

After installing Ng2 I get an awful lots of errors telling me something about a catalogue file error. I cannot restart Dockingstation again

This error occurs when you had the Norngarden1 installed into a C3 World and Ng2 or Ngx installed into a Dockingstation world or vice versa. So the Norngarden Catalogue file appears in both Catalogue folders: Inside the C3 folder and inside your DS Folder. Remove the file "norngarden.catalogue" from one of the catalogue folders and you should be able to play again.

First it all worked fine but suddenly everything seems broken. Is this a bug?

Bugs can always hide. Lets hope there are only a few. Most of the time if people have problems like this they use lots of other peoples agents in the game. Some 3rd Party Agents are not programmed very well and may damage your game and Norngarden 2. Try injecting Norngarden 2 in a world without any other 3rd party agents. If the problem shows up here- it is indeed a bug. Send me a mail and I will try to eliminate it win the next update!
